Basic Data

One of the children raised as possible heir to the L name. He was 12th in the Wammy's House rankings and wasn't actively involved in the Kira case.

Since leaving Wammy's House, Chrissie has set up a law firm, specialising in representing at risk children.

He lives with Chrissie and Salvo, and their infant son, at an undisclosed location.

Iestyn Jones was born, on September 2nd 1994, in Caernafon, Gwynedd, Wales and lived near Aberdaron, on the Llyn Peninsula. He was the fifth child of Gethin and Carys Jones. As a child, Iestyn was often taken for long walks by his maternal grandfather, Dai Roberts. Dai would describe Welsh history and mythology in such a way that Iestyn could see it happening in the landscape around him. He firmly believed that Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) was the real Avalon and that King Arthur had been fatally injured near Dolgellau, at Camlann.

After his beloved grandfather died, Iestyn frequently left his home alone to wander around (within sight of the house or his Mam would tan his hide) and relive the stories in his own mind.

On November 5th, 2002, the family arrived home early from Bonfire Night celebrations and interupted intruders into their home. Recognising one as the son of a local farmer, Gethin Jones called his name. The intruders then opened fire, killing Gethin, Carys, four of their children and Carys's mother, Gwen Roberts. Iestyn survived by running and hiding in a caer, shown to him by his grandfather. He hid until mid-morning, then made his way into Aberdaron, where the alarm was raised.

Iestyn was taken to an orphanage belonging to the Wammy's Group. On November 11th, 2002, he was transported to Wammy's House, in England, where he was given the name, Century.

Why Century?

Century by Bruce Bernard Only eight years old when he arrived at Wammy's House, Iestyn was asked what his favourite subject was at school. When he replied, "Hanes" (history) and was given Bruce Bernard's book 'Century' to look through, while Roger completed the rest of the paperwork.

Roger was prompted by a line on his database to enquire as to an appropriate pseudonym. Iestyn was utterly bewildered and remained silent. Roger called him Century, as that was the word in huge letters on the spine of the book that Iestyn was holding in his hands.

A quiet rebel, Century holds the record for the number of times that anyone has run away from Wammy's House. The majority of those times, he remained undetected until he chose to return. He has become adept at breaking in and out of places; and surviving in the British countryside.

As the youngest of the fourth generation of alumni, he has capitalised on the fact that many of his peers have felt protective towards him. When the last of his peers left, Century refused point blank to live at Wammy's House anymore. Fearing for his health and well-being, Chrissie suggested that he live with herself and Salvo. Roger agreed, weary of the cat and mouse games.

His successor, Hal, is uncomfortable with the arrangement, suspecting that Century is not receiving the education that Watari is supposed to ensure and that Chrissie and Salvo don't always know where Century is. She is actually correct on both counts. However, the influence of Chrissie and Salvo has calmed Century considerably and kept him mostly on the right side of the law.

Century Century's great passion is history. His genius extends outside this subject, but his obsession with it means that he is known primarily for it.

Century is very good at taking disparate facts and contextualising them within the bigger picture. He has an intuitive ability to arrive at correct conclusions.

He is also good at evading detection should he decide not to be found.
